Celebrating Our Local Heroes: Kimberlea "Lilly" Lehr and the Homes for Heroes Program

At Pella Real Estate Services, we are proud to recognize the everyday heroes in our communities through the Homes for Heroes program—an initiative that offers real savings to military personnel, teachers, healthcare workers, EMS, law enforcement, and firefighters when buying or selling a home.

One of our own, Realtor Kimberlea "Lilly" Lehr, brings a deep personal connection and heartfelt dedication to this mission.

Lilly is more than a Homes for Heroes Specialist—she’s a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as an aerospace medical technician, Lilly has also been a proud military spouse for 15 years and continues to serve her community as the EMS Captain for a volunteer fire department. Previously working in education as well, her life’s work has always centered around service, and her passion now extends to helping fellow heroes find home.

Immediately after Pella's famous Tulip Time on May 5th, we joined the nationwide celebration of Heroes Day, and on May 6th, Lilly and her children hand-delivered gift baskets filled with Pella Dutch favorites—Ulrich’s beef sticks, Vander Ploeg’s coffee cakes, and spiced cookies—to the police and fire departments in Johnston and Grimes. It was a heartfelt way to say thank you while sharing a taste of Pella.

This summer, Lilly and her family will be moving back to Grimes after spending the last three years in Pella. While her roots remain with Pella Real Estate Services, she will now focus her Homes for Heroes efforts in the Johnston and Grimes areas—bringing her dedication, experience, and a touch of Pella warmth to the Des Moines metro.
